To those of us who's on Zazzle, I know you're wondering if you can sell a t-shirt design in that platform and what kind of design is actually selling there. That's the purpose of this blog post.
Zazzle, as we all know is a platform where we can customized the design of the products. Designs like these are not easy to make for a t-shirt and Zazzle itself is not known for selling t-shirt. This made it more of a challenge for us who's selling there.
I am not a bestselling designer in Zazzle but at least I am making a sale. I will analyze two of my best selling designs here so that we know what kind of designs really brings in the money. Excited? Let's go.
A combination of simple graphics illustration, typography, pastel colors. This made it click. A very original design ideas by me.
#1. Knit Together in my Mother's Womb Verse Baby Bodysuit
This design is in pastel color. Simple or somewhat minimalist and clean. With 1-2 graphics combined with typography.
With this bodysuit, the texts are customizable. You can tweak them, add name or date. The Graphic illustration can also be moved or replaced. I think that made it more special.
The scripture in it is really suitable for my niche or theme: Religious. Most of the things that sells here in this store, although made up of a variety of products not just t-shirts, are something that's related to religion. This ultimately become my brand.
I've tried a lot of styles but my customers are navigated to those designs that speaks about Scriptures even in my TeePublic Shop. Take a look at my bestselling t-shirts below. Three of them are made of scripture verses.
#2. Easter Pastel Typography Religious Pattern T-Shirt
Take a look at this design here that I also sold on Zazzle last Easter.
A combination of simple graphics illustration, typography, pastel colors. This made it click. A very original design ideas by me.
Despite of the fact that this is not customizable like the one in the above, I still made a sale out of it on a Holiday.
So what we can draw from these?
- Simple, minimalist and clean designs works.
- Custom design works especially in Zazzle. Make sure everything within the design even the image can be customized.
- Always create a design for every holidays.
- Pastel colors work for religious niche.
- Focus on what's selling and make more of it.
- Determine your brand through what your customers are buying.
- Always combine graphics and typography but keep the message stand out. Experiment in the combination of outlined graphics/doodles in black, combined with colors.
- Religious niche is a serious thing, keep that in mind when making your designs. Humors may not work in this niche.
- Create a checklist of what's working and make that as a reference. This will keep your designs cohesive.
- Make it customizable for evergreen tees and a ready-made designs for holidays t-shirts.
I am not saying that this formula will work with you, too. It is always best to experiment and throw out many different designs on Zazzle so your buyers will direct you to what you should be making more of.
Always start with a store with varieties of designs and products to experiment what's working. Do your research for each designs. Do not rush on creating more. Once you know what's working, be intentional of making it.
I myself is creating only once a week because of my job but when I create, it should be something that is well-researched and well made.
I hope this blog post helps you. Let me know your thoughts in the comment.
