Personal Blog: Recognition

He’s in doubt! He said this morning that he can’t make it to first honor, “Kinakabahan ako,” he mumbled. I asked, “Why do you think so?” He said, “Because someone in class is more intelligent than I am.”

Personal Blog: The Sweetest but Saddest Walk

Last day, September 8, 2025, I witness the sweetest but saddest walk of my son and my dog, Coda. For the first time, Coda walked side-by-side with him. We used to pull him because he's a homebody who refused to go outside. He's afraid of the outside world. So this scene amazed me like never before. Naglalakad din pala siya ng ganito? I should have known.

Losing a Dog.

That day was different. Is that because he had full trust to his brother (my son)? Or would that be a way of submission to what lies ahead? I didn't capture the moment because I choose not to remember.

The Freedom of Location

We are not only seeking financial freedom, we also ache for location's freedom.

At least, this is what I realized when I acquired a condominium last April 24, 2025.

Last Wednesday, we finally transferred some of our things in our newly acquired condominium.

We hired a jeepney to bring all our stuff. I can't believe we accumulated a lot of belongings that can occupy two houses even when I threw a lot of things already.

The plan was to acquire a house near my work and my kid's school. Since January, I've been looking for a house or a Condo in Mandaluyong, Pasig, and Taguig. When I finally get one that suits my budget, I realized that I can't afford a Condominium near these places.

I found one, though in Imus, Cavite, around four hours away from work and school.

Since I acquired it already, kinailangan ko ng pangatawanan ito. I wrestled between buying a car or renting a small apartment nearby. I settled to the latter because buying a car and its maintenance is more expensive.

Jim Elliott on Contentment: 7 Christian Ways to Overcome Longings

"Let not our longing slay the appetite of our living. Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God." - Jim Elliott

All of us have different longings. Sometimes these longings are insatiable that they become our obsessions in life.
